Training Course in Prevention and intervention in Dementia

It’s crucial to prepare the professionals working on the front line of care for the senior population, developing effective strategies to address the challenges associated with aging and cognitive decline, with competence and sensitivity.

There is a clear relationship between the risk of dementia and age, 5% in population over 65 years old and 20% from the age of 80, meaning that the incidence and prevalence of dementia increase with age, but not only. There are more and more cases of pre-dementia and dementia at younger ages due to lifestyle.

Therefore, it’s urgent to raise awareness among people about how they can prevent this condition. In this disease, the diagnosis is usually late, leading to a series of negative consequences: loss of time for intervention and treatment, faster progression of the disease, increased safety risks, earlier institutionalization and greater emotional burden on the caregiver/family member.

Thus, it’s urgent to detect the disease early, so that we can implement appropriate measures to provide support and quality of life to those affected and their caregivers.

A 16-hour training course, certified by DGERT, in which the trainee is expected to acquire knowledge in the field of neuropsychology, developing technical skills in cognitive stimulation.
