BPI Rural 2021

From February 2022 to January 2023 we developed the project “ Far but Closer with Technology” under the BPI Foundation “La Caixa” Rural Prize – BPI Rural 21

This digital literacy project aimed to teach seniors how to use new technologies, such as mobile phones, tablets or computers. It focused on teaching them how to make and receive phone calls, send and receive SMS messages on mobile phones, create an email account, send and receive emails, access social media, make posts, search for information, make video calls and participate in online activities like leisure activities, cognitive stimulation and senior dance, all from the comfort of their home.

It also aimed to raise awareness about the correct use of technological devices and the dangers of the internet, as well as promote digital and social inclusion, combating loneliness, especially in the context of the pandemic, where technology helped maintain contact with family and friends and allowed people to continue daily activities at home.
